Black oak IPA

light and spicy

Insects on our IPAs,

OK… but why?

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: don’t panic, you won’t find any insects in the ingredients of our beers! There’s a good reason we decided to give insects pride of place on our IPA packaging designs: nobody else has done it! And yet, when you look a little deeper into the subject, you discover the fascinating wealth that these small-scale creatures have to offer. There’s an incalculable number of different species, with richly diverse colours and unique lifestyles, each with an important role to play in the lives of us unsuspecting humans! There’s so much fascinating information that we wanted to share with you, because gaining a better understanding of our environment is the best way to ensure we respect it! Scan the QR Code on the can and embark on a voyage of insect discovery, explained by the captivating Pascal Raevel, a university professor and specialist in the subject.

A collaboration that makes sense

We had absolutely no idea of the stunning beauty of these insects until we observed them more closely! It was therefore a logical step to give them pride of place on our IPAs, magnified by the graffiti artist Kalouf and plastic artist Romain Lardanchet. All the details have been incorporated, the colours enhanced, and the delicate beauty revealed. The insects are depicted as precious jewels. This is the second time we’ve worked with Kalouf, and the artist really gave this project a whole new dimension. Animals are always at the very heart of the Lyon-based artist’s work, whether they are infinitely small or extremely big. Nature provides him with a perpetual source of inspiration, and he considers the fauna that surrounds us as being inextricably linked to our future. He uses his aerosol paints to express his commitment, creating highly colourful works with an unrivalled degree of precision.

Insects, nature’s precious jewels

A street artist at heart, Kalouf is used to working on large monumental surfaces, but he happily dived head first into this project, accompanied by plastic artist Romain Lardanchet. Combining pleasure and dexterity, the pair are used to working together. One of them creates impressive sculptures from unusual recycled materials, while the other paints them and completes the process of bringing them to life. The chemistry works its magic, resulting in remarkably delicate and detailed designs that flatter our IPA range. It’s also the very first range of Mira products marketed in a can format

Cans have arrived at Mira !

Already packaged in 25cL, 33cL and 75cL bottles and in 5L barrels, Mira hasn’t been available in cans… until now! That’s all changed with our brand new range of IPAs! Containing 44cL, the aluminium can is the best way to store beer, protecting it perfectly from sunlight. It’s a whole new design opportunity for us and for our artists, with seemingly endless and evermore colourful packaging possibilities!

IPA is great, organic IPA is better !

Everyone is familiar with IPA, a highly hoppy and bitter beer invented way back in the 15th century. It has evolved a lot over the years, adapting to the tastes of modern drinkers. Our master brewer Germain has reinvented this classic beer, creating several new versions. He has used a variety of different types of hops, each one bringing fresh nuances to the beer, and has experimented with various spices, fruits, wood chips, etc. The beers aren’t just high quality, they’re made with certified organic ingredients, meaning our range of IPA products respects the environment, encourages biodiversity and the development of insect life.
